Henna Motive Desserts…

Wedding season is on and that’s what Delhi is all about. I have had the joy of hopping weddings like one hops bars/pubs/clubs in Clarke Quay in Singapore! Except-Singapore you manage to reach from one end to the other in 40 minutes here it’s just few kilometres. One is worried the salwar kammez you are wearing doesn’t get crazy creases as you pass through impatiently with the ant pace traffic. It’s a bizarre but its fun!

Mandakini just got back from her Singapore trip and she was so impressed with the city that she wants to move there! I have no doubts too it’s an amazing city; just that it’s too manicured for me! And esp. with the whole family settled there at some point I feel I have seen it all. You see I have a love and hate relationship with the country!
Anyhow this blog post isn’t about Singapore or settling at some place. Mandy as I call her on one of the occasions, I think a dinner at her house asked me to bake her cake with henna motive.

And I ultimately made it yesterday for my Christmas experiment. (After almost 8 months). Didn’t really make a cake but made a Banana Bavarian/Honey roasted almond Chocolate Fudge Tart.

The tart was my canvas and chocolate was the henna and my design inspiration- hmmm my hand 🙂
It was therapeutic but please keep in mind it wasn’t as easy as the “mehndi vala guys” in Lajpat and Hanuman Mandir make it look.

I have made two cakes posting the pics from the first one which is decent but I didn’t know what exactly I was doing. The second turned out cleaner. Will post those in a day or so. Meanwhile enjoy my swirly lines 🙂
