Filling:

400 gms figs, chopped

1 cup water

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup pine nuts

2 teaspoons cocoa

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon orange zest

Phyllo Dough Rectangles

Melted Butter

Powdered Sugar for dusting

·        Combine everything in a pot( filling ingredients) and cook at a simmer over low heat about 5 minutes or until soft and slightly thickened.  Puree in blender Cool.

·        Preheat the Airfryer for 5 mins on 180 Degree C

·        I am using the Samosa Patti ( Frish – Samosa patti available at Natures Basket/foodhall). Place them on a flat surface and brush it with melted butter.

·        Add a scoop of filling and make it in a triangle shape making sure all the sides are sealed properly.

·        Turn seam down on parchment lined Airfryer pan and brush with melted butter.

·        Airfry for 8 -10 mins. Dust with powdered sugar and bite into it warm.

Alternatively you can make your own Dough and bake/fry the same too.

Dough:

2 1/4 cups flour

1/2 cup sugar

pinch salt

200 gms butter, diced

1 egg

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

·         In a blender mix flour, sugar, and salt.

·         Add butter and process to crumbs.

·         Add egg, yolk, and vanilla and pulse briefly.

·         Add water as necessary to make dough that just holds together.

·         Wrap dough and chill.
